Short answer
Okanagan AeroBarrier is an air sealing contractor that works alongside energy advisors. You model the home and run the compliance tests. We seal Part 9 homes and multi-unit builds to the ACH50 target you or the designer set, measuring as we go, and send the builder an Airtightness Verification Report for their file. Your test remains the compliance number.
How we work together
| Part of the job | Your role | Our role |
|---|---|---|
| Energy modelling and EnerGuide | You model the home and set the target | We work to the target you set |
| Mid-construction and final tests | You run the compliance tests | We schedule the seal around them |
| Sealing the envelope | You spot the builds that need help | We seal to the target, usually in one day |
| Results | Your test is the official number | We share the readings from the seal with the builder |
If a client needs help
- Your test shows a build is close to or over its target.
- You mention us to the builder, or they reach out directly. Your results (ACH50, CFM50, volume, target) help us plan the seal.
- We check the stage and point out any larger openings that are best closed by hand first.
- We seal to the target and share our readings with the builder.
- You retest, and your result goes on the file.
If you would like to talk through a project before it is tested, we are always glad to hear from you. It helps the builder get a clear plan early.
Booking the seal around your test
The best time to seal is after insulation and before drywall, which lines up with the mid-construction test on most builds. Testing before the seal gives the builder a baseline; testing after gives you a clean result for the file. Drywall up still works, and so do finished floors and cabinets, with more masking.
